The moment
One photograph you will look at for fifty years
A proposal is the shortest event we work on and the one with the least margin for error. It happens once, it lasts about ninety seconds, and there is no second attempt if the room looks unfinished or the lighting is wrong.
So the setup is built around a single sightline: what they see when they walk through the door, and what the camera sees at the same moment. Everything is arranged to that view — the arch centred on the entrance, the neon at eye level, the petals leading in.
We install while you keep them occupied, and we come back for everything afterwards. Nobody is folding down an arch at midnight.

What goes into a setup
Neon sign
"Will You Marry Me", or custom wording with your names. Strongest in a dimmed room.
Marquee letters
Large illuminated letters where you want scale — a name, initials, or the question itself.
Rose petals & candles
A path in, and a floor that reads as intentional rather than bare.
Balloons
Heart balloons for height and colour, especially effective in rooms with tall ceilings.
Uplighting
Warm uplighting so the setup is lit properly rather than by an overhead bulb.
Getting it right
Three things that decide how it photographs
- Turn the overhead lights down. Neon and candles do the work. A bright ceiling light flattens everything and makes a warm setup look like a lit office.
- Plan the entrance. Everything should be composed for the doorway they walk through, not the middle of the room. That one decision changes the whole layout.
- Have someone photographing. Discreetly positioned, ready before they arrive. A phone held up at the moment itself rarely captures it.

Proposal setup FAQ
Can you set up a proposal without them knowing?
Yes — that is most of what we do here. We install while you keep them elsewhere, and we agree the timing precisely in advance. Tell us your plan and we will work backwards from the moment you want them to walk in.
Where can a proposal be set up?
Private homes and apartments, hotel suites, rooftops, restaurants and private event rooms. What matters is access, level ground and a confirmed window when the space is free. Rooftops and terraces also need a conversation about wind.
How long does setup take, and do you come back?
We install ahead of your timing and return afterwards to break everything down, so you are not dealing with it during or after the moment. Breakdown timing is agreed with you in advance.
Can we have a custom neon sign with our names?
Yes. "Will You Marry Me" is the most requested, and custom wording with names or initials is available. Neon needs production lead time, so give us as much notice as you can.
What else can be added to the setup?
Rose petals, candles, marquee letters, balloons and uplighting are the usual additions. A photographer positioned discreetly is also worth considering — the setup exists to be photographed, and phone footage rarely does it justice.
How far in advance should I book?
The sooner the better, particularly for weekends, Valentine’s Day and December. If your date is close, still ask — proposals are usually smaller installations than events and we can sometimes accommodate short notice.
